NOTICE TO REGISTERED VOTERS RESIDING IN FIRE DISTRICT NO. 1, FRANKLIN
TOWNSHIP, SOMERSET COUNTY, N.J.
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, a vote on the proposed 2024 Capital Improvements Budget of
$2,602,350.00 and a special question to reallocate existing funds for Fire District No. 1 will be
taken as required by N.J.S.A. 40A:14-84 and 14-76 between the hours of 6-9PM. on
Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at the Fire District No. 1 office, 370 Campus Drive, Suite 102,
Somerset, NJ. The introduction and approval of the 2024 budget will take place at the
November 27, 2023, regular Commissioners meeting, which starts at 8PM, at the Millstone
Valley Vol. FD – 2365 Amwell Road, Somerset, NJ. The final hearing and adoption will take
place at the January 8, 2024, regular Commissioners meeting, which starts at 8PM at the
Elizabeth Avenue Vol. FD – 2 Wiley Drive, Somerset, NJ. One week prior to the public
hearing, a complete copy of the approved budget may be obtained by emailing ap@ftfd1.com.

Shall the Board of Commissioners transfer $150,000 of EXISTING capital funds, currently accrued for
“High Water Rescue Vehicles”, to an existing “Apparatus Accrual” line item?
Explanation: The Fire District budgeted $150,000 for the purchase of Highwater Rescue vehicles in 2022.
The District has determined this project closed and would like to reallocate the budget monies to future Apparatus purchase(s).
